[...He listens. He listens, stares, and...He smirks.]
'Judging', or 'scolding'? [the boy snorts, shaking his head. The humor quickly fades from the air however, as he stares Shootie down.] You're being idiots. Both of you.

[What?] The first rule of a place where death isn't permanent-don't get involved in it. Ever. For starters, do you have any proof of the exact details of this situation? [he scoffs, waving a hand.] That 'she wasn't wronged', and so on?

Death for the sake of vengeance here begets more death. And so on, so forth. You kill one, another comes after you, and then someone close to you goes after them-it doesn't end, and that is what you have allowed.

Do you understand that? [Noa asks, raising an eyebrow.] ....Or were you only thinking of what your 'housemate' desired?

[All the same, he frowns to Touya.] ...As for you, however...you're hardly clear yourself. [Now what's that supposed to mean?!

He leaves it for them to figure out, or respond to, apparently.

I've questioned her herself. [Huffily, unhappy with having his logic questioned. By all means, drag his morals, but his logic is sound! He'd like to think.]

She answered honestly, as expected of a farm girl [— we apologize for his stereotypes—] ... even knowing that if he had not preyed on her personally, I'd rule this an unjustified attack on her part and allow him to retaliate. [At least he sounds hesitant and regretful here?] She answered honestly, understanding that, and she paid the price. It cannot continue on Mitsuhide's end because I don't plan on him killing anymore.

... I won't allow this ambiguous, by-proxy revenge again. [He's good at sounding detached, certainly, and approaching things logically, but it really did weigh heavily on him.] Solely self-defense. I understand my mistake.

But, please don't think of it as leaving the door open to that—

He won't do so unless I allow him to because he hates being trapped and if he breaks this rule even once, he'll be confined and he hates that more than any corporal punishment— which, by the way, he won't want revenge on his behalf, because he doesn't think himself worthy of anyone else's suffering.

He's also a... very extreme masochist, that's why they couldn't really punish him in jail and why they were so willing to turn him over to me.

lmfao nice

More importantly by 'allowing' this you already claim some form of control over the situation.

Tell me, Shootie, [he asks, adjusting his glasses.] Is 'allowing' murder really so fair, when it could have apparently ended where it begins?

Take it from me-as a target-by-association, it really isn't.

[That said, the naga sighs.] There's no taking back what's been done though...the most any of us can do is see what comes of it and go from there. Which likewise means there's no sense in making bold accusations of humanity, [he adds, frowning toward Touya.] I see this for what it is. A mistake.

But take care to remember it as such.

I do. I claim responsibility for thi-... for this. [His breathing hitched, briefly, and he blinked fast, but mostly resumed the same neutral, calm air. It weighed heavily on him, but Touya judged him so quickly, he had no choice but to detach as much as possible from it to avoid showing any vulnerability when he feared he couldn't trust him with it. Noa recognized it as a mistake and it... put him at ease, in a way. He nodded quietly, then hung his head.]

... understood.

What were you targeted for? You don't have to answer that.

Um... Kira doesn't care about Mitsuhide, so I don't think he'd start anything. The third friend, the one I've met awake, he's... really cowardly and he would rather avoid anything that'd put him in danger, so I don't think he'd do anything either. Honestly, he mostly just acts like the shadiest, sleaziest person on earth, but he doesn't sound too dangerous. Just gross. [A slightly uncomfortable shifting of weight, then, continuing!]

They both agree he's killed far less than Mitsuhide-san. But with Mitsuhide-san inactive, Kira's the main threat, but he is one with or without Mitsuhide-san involved. He doesn't need a motive, given that he's a fetish killer.

[Very matter-of-factly said, but he also makes a face after it, like he's tasted something unpleasant, because really, he's had to say that word far too many times since meeting that man. He probably doesn't need to keep bringing this up, now that Susan's given him away on the network, but it's a little hard to forget.]
noasark: (Well that didn't work)

From what I gather, [he corrects] Kira is the one whose death is currently being avenged...and if he's as abhorrent as it seems, the ones that killed him in the first place may target them instead of whoever 'avenges' him. Which leaves us in the same rut.

If you have a leash for the 'avenger', then use it, should that chance rise again. Encouraging the bravado and superiority of a 'fetish killer' isn't something you should be doing...and this very likely is.

[personal profile] shootaro 2017-03-15 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[He was starting to open up again, after Noa's more balanced response, which meant he couldn't hide both the repulsed shudder at Touya's insinuation and, later, the hurt look that briefly flickered across his features.]

... I wouldn't lie to you, Touya.

Yeah, but he doesn't know it's me yet. Depending on how much he remembers of his dreams though, he'll know me on sight. If he ties that to what I said or maybe if he just makes the decision to off everyone who saw...

It's— not that, though, ugh. He only likes women. Only women. He's not interested in men and had this whole spiel because someone decided to mess with his dream by claiming the Mona Lisa was a self-portrait and he had this huge crisis because he's been, uh, fixated on that painting since he was a little boy and I guess Mona Lisa's hands are where it started for him, or whatever.

Laptop?

[Look, they could just pull up that post, it wasn't from too long ago.]

... I may have aggravated the situation a little and that's why he wants me dead more than just the walking-through-his-head thing.

[A.K.A. he teased him some about his potentially confused sexuality anonymously. He's going to hang his head in shame with a droopy crest of fathers, okay, he can't meet anyone's gaze when they figure out Kira wants him dead not for his hands (geez, Touya), but because he flamebaited him anonymously on the network.]

... I'll keep him on a tighter leash then. Understood.

Um...
[Yeah, encouraging his bravado's a... pretty good way to sum it up. Just wait and see, guys.]

[personal profile] shootaro 2017-03-15 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I asked for your laptop.

[But if you won't give it to him, then, fine, he'll grab it himself, locate the post, and.

Here. Enjoy both Kira's ranting about the ideal femininity of the Mona Lisa and Shootie's worst decision in recent memory aside from the Susan thing.]

... yeah, that one? That was me.

[Bit of a whistle. Well, that sure is a thing.] My, my...well, better hope they're not too computer savvy, or you may have painted a target on your back.

[He shrugs.] Though given their associates, I suppose I should say 'join the club' in that case...

[His feathers start to fan and fluff out starting from his tail up. Even if he didn't shiver, the chill made itself QUITE obvious...]

Yeah, um.

I don't know why I did that, I just— freaked out and that... happened.

Frankly, I'm not too worried about the IP address tracing thing given that he could get my actual, real life address if Mitsuhide-san wasn't actually following rules.
